I have always loved all animals, with dogs and horses being a major part of most of my life. More than 20 years ago I started breeding Papillons under the prefix "Landau". These delightful butterfly dogs brought me and my mother, who showed them with great success, endless joy. At that time I also trained and competed my Australian Cattle Dog in obedience where he achieved "Highest Scoring Dog in Trial" on 2 occasions and obtained his CD title. He then achieved 2 passes towards his CDX before injury prevented us from achieving his next title.
I stopped breeding dogs to concentrate more on my riding. I try to ride every day and compete my horse when I can and I am also a nationally qualified Dressage Judge. This passion of horses saw me spending more years (and a great deal of money) breeding dressage horses under my "Renwood" prefix using frozen semen imported from the number one stallion in the world in Germany at the time "Weltmeyer". Although it was an expensive choice and not without risk, I could tell I had a good eye for breeding by the beautiful and talented progeny that resulted. Every time, like I had done with the Papillons, my aim was to breed the best. Currently a mare I bred "Renwood Waratah" has taken out the title of Horse of the Year in dressage in NSW the last 2 years running and is competing FEI small tour with great success.
Several years ago my husband and I moved to property where I finally had the room to further explore my equine passion and also offer safe haven to rescued farm animals. But something was missing. I was once again drawn to my love of dogs. We both adored our aging White German Shepherd so this led me to my first ANKC recognised White Swiss Shepherd "Summer" (Sovereign Park Aislynn). Summer has given me a really good education in the show ring and also gave me the experience of dealing with my first large dog litter of pups to fulfil her breeding contract with her co-owner. Now Summer is owned entirely by me and with her, I also have her half sister, Khaleesi and a daughter from both. They are my pets first and foremost and live with us inside the house when we are home. My plans for these 4 beautiful, intelligent girls is to initially show them and then trial in obedience. They have all been x-rayed with excellent hips and elbows so I will also be endeavouring to try to improve on these already impeccable blood lines by once again, trying to breed the best I possibly can.
